California Suncakes, Emeryville, CA, has introduced Heart Thrive cakes, which are used at medical centers like Cedar-Sinai, Kaiser Permanente, California Pacific and Alta Bates Summit. Heart Thrive cakes are offered by these facilities and individual doctors because of the health-promoting ingredients present in the heart-shaped health cakes. Packaged in pairs, the cakes provide as much calcium as an eight-ounce glass of milk, 30% of the body’s daily protein and 10 grams of fiber. They contain no cholesterol and are low in sugar—7-12 grams per cake. Heart Thrive cakes are available in seven flavors including Apricot, Cranberry, Apple, Date, Raisin, Poppy Seed and Chocolate Chip.
